A heavy lifter and deep diver, seeking, sorting and culminating the needs for project initiatives mining and synthesizing customer, industry, brand and competitive information.  

The Associate Strategist has a solid foundational skill set with prior experience in Research (Brand, Consumer, Competitive, and Trend), Content Strategy, Brand Strategy and User Experience and/or Customer Experience (CX/UX). They possess the curiosity and ability to question, analyze and determine the best route to gain understanding, and uncover insights.

The Associate Strategist is a contributing team member providing analysis, observations and recommendations towards the project recommendations.

What is the primary objective of this role?

The Associate Strategist will be responsible for collecting and compiling research (brand, consumer, competitive), supporting the Strategy team on a variety of accounts, in order to define a strong foundation for the needs of Curiosity and our clients.

Who does this role report to?

The Associate Strategist reports to the Director, Strategy.


The Associate Strategist is responsible for collaboration with other Strategy team members, Creatives, Media and Account team members, aiding in reasearching, analyzing and identifying actionable insights that will inform strategy-based solutions in support of our client’s business objectives.

What does this role solve for the agency?

The Associate Strategist plays a critical role in support towards maintaining and elevating the strategic offering of our work, internally and for our clients.

How will this role work?

Support the Strategy team in the disovery and interpretation through the use of a variety of research methodologies (desk research, quantitative  and qualitative). Aid in the experience planning of projects, whether in advertising campaigns, content strategies or web applications.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist in the research approach (including primary, secondary qualitative, quantitative, consumer response or database resources) throughout the project to address the strategic business problem
  • Co-create with internal and external partners throughout the research process to maximize project outcome
  • Work with agency research partners to leverage a full range of insight-generating opportunities, such as assisting in survey questionnaire programming, online communities, mobile ethnographies, etc. to create actionable insights for our clients
  • Assist in developing strategy Discovery Sessions
  • Assist in the sourcing and compiling of Brand, Content, Industry and Competitive Audits
  • Act as a storyteller, synthesizing results from various sources of information in a clear and engaging way to provide holistic business recommendations
  • Contribute to, and periodically lead, internal training sessions in regards to research

  • Undergraduate degree with relevant experience in research and analysis
  • Strong conceptual skills and ability to translate concepts into consumer research methodologies and tools
  • Ability to synthesize and clearly communicate findings from data and research to focus on the critical issues and actionable opportunities
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
