SENIOR CONTENT STRATEGIST

 

What is the primary objective of this role?

The Senior Content Strategist will be responsible for informing a clear, creatively inspiring content strategy based on our clients’ business objectives and the customers’ or end users’ needs; informed by social listening and additional aided research building a strong foundation that will make the work of Curiosity and our clients’ set upon a well-informed, insight-based foundation.

Curiosity and our clients demand a thought leader in content trends, analysis and insights across a range of industry sectors and platforms. This requires informed creative, messaging and thinking—no matter the marketing or technology channel—to stay relevant and ahead of the competition to drive persuasion among consumers.

 

What are the primary responsibilities of this role?

The Senior Content Strategist will contribute in the following areas: Assisting with new and existing client business, assisting with the crafting our integrated (campaign) brief; defining and contributing to content messaging pillars, writing content briefs, and assisting our creative teams in writing and creating inspiring work based on a solid strategy.

 

This role draws a distinction with Communications Planning, which is typically focused on channel planning, i.e. for a given brief, which media, audiences and tactics should be employed and in what ways, over what flighting, etc.

 

The Senior Content Strategist is also responsible for:

  • Conducting content audits and gap analyses across an array of content delivery channels and customer touchpoints.
  • Lead brainstorming and other collaborative sessions, injecting pace where needed and identify pertinent topics to dive into based on the flow of the session and the wider brief/client/agency objectives.
  • Contribute to and manage discrete sections of the discovery, define, design, deploy and decipher phases of the agency process where needed.
  • In-depth understanding of the role and integration that creative, production and media play in the ideation process, their varying ways of working and how to approach inputting into the creative development process.
  • Defining the role of each piece of content and how it contributes to the overall success of the campaign.
  • Maintaining and ensuring our work is consistently in alignment with the approved content strategy.
  • Assisting with the consistent integration of content, as it pertains to social media channels and digital platforms.
  • A thought leader in communications, audience behavior and cultural trends covering all audiences for all assigned clients and sectors.
  • Ability to decode creative work and advise on the messaging, both as an input into the integrated brief and when reviewing work in Internal Reviews (IR) and Creative Reviews (CR).
  • Presenting analysis and reporting in a client-facing role, while advising on how we can construct ideas and content that target audiences will want to participate and engage with.

Education:

Bachelor's Degree preferred

 

Experience:

3-5 years of experience

 

Additional Requirements:

Keynote, PowerPoint, Google Slides, Google Docs, Word, Excel, Research Planning, Content Strategy Planning, Research Analysis (Qualitative), Infegy, Simmons, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop a plus!

 

This role may require up to 10% travel.

 

This position reports to the Director of Strategy.
